How we work
Planning your hospital visit should be a stress-free experience.
STEP 1 – MAKE AN APPOINTMENT
Get in touch with email [email protected] or call 01752 761818. The good news is that you don’t always need a referral. If you are paying for your own treatment you can self-refer to see Mr Stitson; this means you won’t necessarily need to make a GP appointment beforehand.
STEP 2 – GET YOUR PERSONALISED TREATMENT PLAN
We know everyone is different, so your initial assessment and treatment plan will be individually tailored to you and designed to suit your specific healthcare needs.
A new patient/ initial consultation will normally be seen in Mr Stitson’s clinic (Mondays, 8:00 am – 1:00 pm) at the Nuffield Hospital Plymouth, at a fee of £250.
STEP 3 – PRE-OPERATIVE CARE
All pre-operative assessments and any tests or scans undertaken while you are at the Nuffield Hospital to help diagnose a condition will be charged back to you.
STEP 4 – EXPERT ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON
All patient treatment costs as part of your procedure are included. This includes your procedure performed by Mr Stitson, anaesthetic, the Nuffield Hospital, and aftercare.
STEP 5 – PERSONAL RECOVERY PROGRAM
Your personal recovery plan includes 3 months’ membership at the Plymouth Nuffield Health Fitness and Wellbeing Centre with the provision of a personal recovery programme post-surgery.
You are also invited to attend the Nuffield’s Joint School event which is run by the Nuffield Physiotherapy team.
Mr Stitson and the Plymouth Nuffield have a stringent process in place to ensure your joint replacement goes smoothly. From your initial consultation to your post-op care, Mr Stitson is all about giving you first-class treatment.
